Hi everyone

I just want to let everyone know that some cars that I've converted in-game for sims 2 may have not been used under permission by their creators somehow, even though I thoroughly make the best effort to contact all the creators on 3d models of cars they have made that I convert for sims 2, the creator of some cars that I converted for this game, known as xiorxorn, he doesn't seem too happy with me at the moment, and that makes me feel very bad about the situation, since I have sent many emails to him about his amazing car models, but none of them were ever answered back, one of the issues that I can understand is that I may not include in the topic of my conversions is that "The 3d model was made by ...", I did at one point do that, but it was hard to do since a username was not their real name, and some of the creators' user names matches user names of members on the site and be different people and let to some confusion among members on the site at the time, and I also used to link where I got the models from, but then it lead to the confusion with people thinking they had to go to that linked site and install those files, which are from that gta game and not sims 2, then come back here thinking that what the file here is just a recolor or something and the link is needed for proper use in-game for sims 2 and not a gta game, another issue with a lot of cars I've found is that there is no way to contact some of the creators or they don't respond to my emails, so I had to start asking the people in charge of those sites where they have those cars up for download, most of them didn't have an issue, problem or concern, mostly because the sims 2 is an old game and now been considered obsolete and with gta sa, which is where most of the creator-made cars I use are in, is also an obsolete game, so I did acquire permission from those sites, but only to be used in sims 2 and do not sell them for profit, which was fine, I don't have much talent with anything else, so I thought I would convert some very nicely done models into the game, to keep an old game alive for some people, car converting was a new chance for me because of a dark past that I don't want to talk about that still leaves a nasty feeling in my gut whenever I think about it, but converting models into sims 2 has given my life more value to do things makes me want to live and use this only skill I have, even though I make no money of any sort, and I hope I never have to go back being my old self, it wasn't a very good era of my life, let's just say that I felt useless because every-time I did something, it would go terribly wrong, kept getting fired from job after job for no reason of nothing I've done wrong, purely blamed on for other's actions, almost completely broke now after being unemployed for almost a year, so no college and going hungry every now and then to keep whats left for everyone else, and I just recently getting to have a better relationship with my parents and their really low on cash too, I don't want to quit converting models for the game, since it's the only thing that doesn't make me feel useless since I failed at many other things in my life

So I really hope xiorxorn understands my situation and finds some way to forgive me, as I meant no harm to him or anything like that and I don't understand how none of my emails got to him:(

And to prevent other similar issues in the future, I will start including credit to that person and even if the car was made for a game, I'll even include credit to them(the company who made the game) for that car, in the game file, in the catalog description for the car conversion, also the credit will be seen in the topic that the car will be posted in, because I feel very bad that this happened

Yes we found a solution, I just have to better upkeep on the emails and address in the topic who made the car and textures

Glad you got it sorted. I understand both sides and I'm glad xiorxorn is a cool guy and not too angry with you. Were many cars by him? Maybe you should update your release list with that information.

The Ferrari 365, Citroen DM and the Renault 11 Turbos, and I have included info that the models are his in those topics of the cars, that he made the Models and the textures that are mapped to the cars

PERMISSION, PERMISSION, PERMISSION!!! Glad you worked it out with them. Going on this long for converting for the sims2 without any problems, your bound to hit a bump in the road for something. Hope everything is cool with him as well as with everyone else !!!

I wouldn't say that since those who download your recolors will go download the car anyway and see the credit then. Also, recolors don't actually include the mesh, so it's something different.
