the Uplander comes second, it's just had some recalls on major components for the van, it's difficult to have parts made in Mexico without having a large percentage of them being defective before being used in a car

I'm not sure what Ford is trying to prove, but GM is already trying to move most of their manufacturing operations to Aussyland, and from a ton of facts and articles on the Wiki, AU cars seem to last a long time and have a very low recall ratio, also AU doesn't have much restrictions for what's under the hood or anything that's considered street legal and illegal, Canada is also proving to be very valuable too, with a moderately high car life and a low recall ratio as well

The other two GM minivans arent that bad, my family has both of the other generations. The van that I have is my first car, was a hand-me-down, it's a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette GLS. It has like 215,000 miles on it. But last thanksgiving we had to have the engine replaced. And since then it has been in the shop about every two months with different problems that relate back to the numb-skulls trained by general motors to fix didn't fix it right. The other van is a 2006 Buick Terraza CXL AWD with 60,000 miles, its a beautiful car a ton of featues only problem is with the rear gate not closing right when its parked on an odd angle won't shut, and last month it need a whole latch because it self destructed. Fords are no exceptions our 1998 Ford Crown Vic w/ police package and 112,000 miles the ball-joint broke on the suspension that was 900 bucks. The only car that we have that doesn't have any major problems is our 1998 Chevrolet Metro w/ 55,000 only needed a new exhust system. So GM rules Ford okay.

dont go to the dealer for repairs or the sertain number of miles u need for the inspetion just go to a garage cause the dealer cost more. my mom used ford and the broke her radio and a/c and shes has 4 flats 2 on the driverside one up front and other in the back on the other side 2 flats in the back. the worst hit my moms car has taken was when my dad ran over the curb that sticks out in a parking lot. now she goes tho a guy that lives near one of her friends and he fixed the a/c and radio. Never use the dealer!!!!! oh yea and 2 window motors died well one broke well i think both broke but the only reason se paid $180 is because ford gave my mom the wrong part they gave her a hand window crank and her car is yea automadic windows and ford would have charged her more than $200 so yea.

I went to privately owned garage and they broke other things that I had to pay for, so I recommend a dealership garage

well you need a different garage not a privatly owned one cause that already sounds like a ripoff so go to a big name garage or something a little smaller but still around

Well, don't get me started on things coming back broke. I was on a trip to my grandfathers by myself, with our newest car (the buick). And it did its thing with the tailgate and I didnt know what happened took dealer and was called home suddenly. Had to use my aunts car and my aunt rented one so i could go home. She picks the buick up from the dealer in town there, didnt use the van cause she was off work. So, I come back to get the car and do some work around my grandfathers house. It was storming somthing awful, turn on the rear wiper and it goes about halfway up and quits. Turns out the motor on the wiper blew but still didnt stop me from blaming the  dealer  .

You don't even have a wal-mart auto center in st pete. Or, say an aamco.

scooter i agree 100% about blaming the dealer. the make you pay more for manual labor (dumb) but if you go a different garge like what you said the will only charge your for the repairs not manual labor too
