Ah right, I'm always trailing behind.

Have you tried running the game with only 1 family in the town this has improved my game where i can play for hours 8 + with tones of custom music and 2.5 gig of downloads .

I started having problems with the very latest Nvidia update i went back to the only stable version this year for my PC 7.15.11.8250 you can also try that my card is GeForce 9800 GT 512 mb GDDR3 i have 8GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM and a Core 2 Quad Q9450 with a 1200 PSU so no its not your computer .

You can also try turning off DEP ( DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION ) for TS2 this way windows does not monitor the game and hands control over to the processor ( WINDOWS VISTA ) START > RIGHT CLICK COMPUTER > LEFT CLICK PROPERTIES >TOP LEFT UNDER TASKS > LEFT CLICK ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS > ADVANCED TAB > PERFORMANCE > SETTINGS > DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION > MAKE SURE ON THE BOTTOM OF WINDOW YOU SEE THE MESSAGE " YOUR COMPUTERS PROCESSOR SUPPORTS HARDWARE BASED DEP " CLICK THE GREYED OUT CIRCLE TURN ON DEP FOR ALL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES EXEPT THOSE I CHOOSE > ADD THE GAMES EXECUTABLE FILE > ADD > FROM THE LOOK IN DROP DOWN BOX CHOOSE ( LOCAL DISK C:) DEPENDING ON YOUR OS VERSION YOU WILL SEE ( PROGRAM FILES ) & PROGRAM FILES X86 IF YOU HAVE A 64 BIT OS TS2 WILL BE IN PROGRAM FILES X86 > EA GAMES > LEFT CLICK YOUR BASE GAME ( I WOULD CLICK THE SIMS 2 DELUXE BECAUSE THIS IS MY BASE GAME ) > LEFT CLICK EP2 ( MY BASE GAME )> LEFT CLICK TSBIN > LEFT CLICK SIMS2EP2 . You will also have to do the same for your most recent installed expansion pack because this is the one you will be playing at the moment.

my computer doesn't have DEP, becuase of the processor, but I got everything worked out, restarting the computer right before I play TS2, then I could play the game on and off for the rest of the day just fine

my sims 2 takes ages to load,i have to wiggle the mouse every 5 mins otherwise it will terminate itself because i have about 5 gb of custom content, but when it loads, it freezes itself and goes to a blue screen with just music.the mouse is also there, with the egg timer saying its loading

im getting a new computer soon and i hope your cars will show up ingame coz they dont with my current computer
its so annoying that they dont WORK
but for some strange reason,all of fresh princes and any other creators cars apart from yours work fine

so i hope my new computer shows ur cars up in game
ill have to reinstall sims 2 and all my expansion packs,but if they show up it'll be worth it
even tho the cars dont show up i luv seein ur new cars
and 4 the 100000th time you are the best car creator ever!

I am not sure if everyone is aware, but you have to install your game in a particular order. This is an email message sent to me from EA Games. I will paste below. This maybe a little long because it also includes how to manually uninstall the game.

SIMS 2 Install Order:
1.Sims 2 or SIMS 2 Deluxe or SIMS 2 Double Deluxe or SIMS 2 Holiday Edition
2.Sims 2: University or University Life Collection
3.Sims 2: Nightlife (Disregard if have SIMS 2 Deluxe or SIMS 2 Double Deluxe)
4.Sims 2: Open For Business or SIMS 2 Best of Business Collection
5.Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff (The Sims 2: Fun with Pets Collection)
6.Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff
7.Sims 2: Pets (Disregard if have The Sims 2: Fun with Pets Collection)
8.Sims 2: Happy Holiday (Disregard if have SIMS 2 Holiday Edition....this game does not need a Serial key)
9.Sims 2: Seasons
10.Sims2: Celebration Stuff (Disregard if have SIMS 2 Double Deluxe)

MANUAL UNiNSTALL SiMS 2

Note: If you are not doing a full uninstall of the game, please back up your Sims 2 data before completing the steps further below.

To back up your Sims 2 data:

Double click on the My Documents folder.
Double click on the EA Games folder.
Right Click on the The Sims 2 folder.
Select Copy.
Close this window and right click anywhere on the desktop that is not on an icon or in a window.
Select Paste.
Your Sims save games will now be saved to the desktop of your computer.
To restore your Sims save games, simply move this folder back into the EA Games folder.
The next step will involve deleting the game files themselves.

To remove all of the game folders:

Open your My Documents folder.
Open the EA Games folder.
Right-click on The Sims 2 folder and choose Delete.
A Confirm Folder Delete window will appear; choose Yes.
When the folder is finished deleting, close the window.
Open My Computer.
Open your hard drive (by default this is C: ).
Open the Program Files folder.
Open the EA Games folder.
Right-click and delete the Sims 2 expansions you wish to uninstall (delete all of the folders for a full uninstall)

Right-click on your Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.

Click on Start and then click on Run...
In the text line type regedit, and click OK.
click on File and then Export...
Choose a location and name for the file; this will be your backup registry file.
Click Save.
The next steps will all be performed in the left pane of the Registry Editor window.

Click on the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click on the + next to SOFTWARE.
Click on the + next to EA GAMES.
Right-click and delete the Sims 2 expansions you wish to uninstall (delete all of the folders for a full uninstall) (If there is no folder present skip this step.)

mmm i had that problem if u still have the other computer chek his congiguration and maybe it works. i had that thing time ago was desesperating but my bro fixed i will ask him so i can tell you
