Not the right paint scheme for this car. But was like this for all police cars in New York in the mid 70s to the early 90s. Saw it done on one for GTA so I went and done the same thing.

Same thing done to this. Was done in GTA so I did the same.

Correct or not, I like this NYPD paint scheme.

Good job!

the blue started in 73 and ended in 1996 so i wouldn't be surprised if some 1972s were painted blue if they were wrecked. the way i have seen NYC shops operate is they have the "git er done" mentality and sacrifice details to get the vehicle back in service as fast and cheaply as possible. (ie not painting it the right color/ not properly painting it) anyway nice work

I thought that the blue with white ended somewhere in the 2000s, then switched to white with blue and a few changes. I know GTA 4 had their cruisers with white and blue. One thing I noticed in GTA 3, City was Liberty aka New York, the police car was black body with white top and doors, originally it was suppose to be blue. Most other cities had black with white color schemes.

Your recolors look great! (But I would appreciate if you didn't use the big pic as your signature.)

well the last light blue and white RMPs were the 1996 caprices and they were most likely retired in the early 2000s. there were a few older blue and white support vehicles (paddy wagons and stuff like that) that are still in service. there are also dark blue or black and white RMPs and vans that were assigned to traffic auxiliary and school safety. but that stopped in 2008 because the brilliant mayor thought that people would be given the illusion of there being more cops on the street if our RMPs were white (keep in mind this is less then a year since 2 brother auxiliary officers were mowed down in the 6th pct) so now our RMPs along with school safety and traffic's RMPs are white. school safety and traffic had the same basic design but they generally used smaller cars or SUVs and vans. and during the 90s school safety had a 2 tone paint scheme of dark blue with a white roof and different lettering on the side of there vehicles.

here's an old auxiliary RMP for reference.
